The project entered a new phase when funding was awarded in August 2000 by NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts. This enabled detailed market research to be carried out, and the results were encouraging. Pre-production prototypes of a folding 2 sq m rig for canoes and kayaks have been made and tested.
